Guhring to premiere new products at MACH

Posted on 05 Mar 2026. Edited by: Tony Miles.
Guhring to premiere new products at MACH Guhring will showcase a variety of new cutting tool innovations at MACH 2026, which takes place 20-24 April at the NEC, Birmingham (Hall 20, Stand 362). Guhring will present new product lines alongside established, industry-leading ranges featuring a complete selection of milling, threading, drilling, and specialised tools. As part of the display, Guhring will demonstrate its extensive PCD and micro cutting tool portfolio.

Guhring, recognised for its expertise in turning and sliding-head machining, will highlight the impressive System 208. Ideal for machining complex micro-turned parts, this grooving system has been specially designed for sliding-head lathes with specialised geometry inserts that offer high interchangeability and long tool life. With indexable ground inserts featuring two cutting edges, the series is designed to provide maximum precision in confined spaces, therefore making it ideal for medical, electronic, and the micro component sectors. With a maximum grooving depth of 8mm, the system handles common machining operations such as parting off, grooving, and turning.

In field trials, the tools used in the System 208 demonstrated an increase in tool life of up to 30%. A key feature of the System 208 is its high-precision interface with a changeover accuracy of ±0.015mm. This guarantees that the cutting edges are positioned precisely after each insert change. The System 208 programme uses Guhring’s precision-ground inserts with nano A-coating, available in five geometric variants, with tool holders measuring 10 x 10mm, 12 x 12mm, and 16 x 16mm, in both right and left-hand variants, with and without through coolant.

From the drilling portfolio, the new three-fluted FT 200 U solid carbide drill will be on display at MACH 2026. The new series allows for cost-efficient drilling up to 12xD without pilot drilling. This is due to its pyramid tip properties, combined with an innovative web thinning design that achieves precise self-centring and excellent material penetration. With the specially developed Spiropoint grind, the point angle is shaped like a funnel, enabling high-precision spot drilling. The FT 200 U optimises swarf evacuation with its modified flute profile that curls chips tightly and breaks them reliably.

Precision drilling

With precise self-centring, unparalleled hole quality and exceptional tool life, which is a credit to the three-fluted Spiropoint tip geometry and the three-guide land design, Guhring now takes precision drilling to a new level. Available in 3xD and 5xD from 4-20mm diameter, and 8xD and 12xD from 4-16mm, the series is the perfect all-rounder.

The FT 200 U will be complemented at MACH 2026 by the RT 100 U Step drilling line. This 90deg solid carbide step drill is perfectly matched to the desired thread. It eliminates the need for special tooling, which increases cost-effectiveness when producing drilled holes with a 90deg countersink. Moreover, you no longer need 90deg countersinking tools, thereby reducing tool variety and associated costs. Available in 3xD for threads from M4 to M16, the solid carbide drilling line is presented with Guhring’s Nano fire coating to enhance wear resistance and deliver impressive tool life across a wide range of materials.

Complementing the RT 100 U drilling line will be the Pionex series of thread mills. Recently expanded to incorporate more thread forms, coatings and geometries than ever before, the Pionex threading line guarantees the most optimal solution for all threading needs.

Completing the display will be Guhring’s tool management technology, which will be featured at MACH 2026 in the guise of the TM vending machines. This versatile storage solution features electronically locked drawers that can be customised in height and partitioning options to suit specific needs. All Guhring tool vending systems are operated by GTMS software, enabling simple and intuitive use. Log in is user-specific via PIN, barcode, or RFID. Depending on the system type, tools can be stored and managed at different security levels.
