Nikon NEXIV software maximises measurement workflows

Nikon NEXIV software maximises measurement workflowsNikon Corporation has announced major upgrades across its NEXIV software suite with new versions of AutoMeasure and Advanced Measure, delivering a significant step forward in simplifying program creation, automating operator tasks and accelerating high‑volume measurement workflows.

Phil Wilson, NEXIV group director, microscopy business unit Europe, said: “With these updates, manufacturers gain powerful optimisations that boost productivity, reduce operator workload, and ensure consistent, high-quality measurement results - even in demanding, large-scale environments.”

The enhanced AutoMeasure software, dedicated to the NEXIV VMZ S series, VMZ H3030 and iNEXIV VMA systems, introduces a suite of intelligent automation functions designed to help operators of any skill level create accurate measurement programs with far greater speed and consistency. Intelligent Measurement Code Suggestion now anticipates the next command based on previous operator actions, cutting programming time and ensuring more uniform results.

Reduced cycle times

Auto Focus Retry prevents workflow interruptions by automatically repeating focus operations until successful, reducing hands‑on involvement during setup. When using CAD reference macros, the software also optimises measurement paths automatically, selecting the fastest route between measurement points to shorten total cycle times.

Advanced Measure, dedicated to the NEXIV VMF K series, is designed to maximise throughput and support extremely large measurement tasks. Improved Laser AF Retry function ensures uninterrupted long‑run measurements without operator intervention. Height and search operations can now be performed simultaneously with a single probe, reducing cycle times while improving repeatability. A substantial increase in the allowable number of measurement codes enables a single program to handle hundreds of thousands — or even millions — of measurement points, meeting the demands of high‑density probe card applications and other large‑scale inspection environments.

Together, AutoMeasure and Advanced Measure present a unified strategy for modern metrology requirements. The upgrades reduce operator dependency, shorten measurement cycles and improve consistency across large batches while enabling manufacturers to scale to ever‑greater data volumes. Nikon says the updates underline its commitment to delivering intelligent, production‑ready measurement solutions that help customers accelerate throughput and maintain the highest standards of quality.
