A global provider of autonomy software, fully autonomous vehicles and mobile robotic platforms has sealed a hat-trick of award wins in the first three months of 2026. Aurrigo International plc, which recently secured its largest-ever manufacturing contract with Ultra Global, added another trophy to its expanding cabinet last week when its CEO claimed the Technology Leader title at the West Midlands Leadership Awards.

Professor David Keene impressed judges, including last year’s overall winner Mitchell Barnes of RYSE 3D, with the way he has accelerated the Coventry firm’s expansion into the world of aviation, a sector that is traditionally difficult to introduce new innovations. Its growing range of autonomous vehicles are changing this narrative and have already been involved in real-world trials at 12 global airports, ranging from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky International in the USA to Zurich in Europe and Teesside in the UK.

The latest accolades come hot on the heels of Professor Keene’s Ambassador of the Year honour at the Business Desk Awards<>/i> and the Highly Acclaimed Innovative Logistics Solution in Air Cargo from STAT Times.

Three major awards

Professor Keene, who received an MBE from Prince William last year, said: “It has been a fantastic start to 2026 for Aurrigo, with three major awards secured and, equally important, major growth plans coming to fruition. Technology is at the core of what we do, so it is fantastic to be recognised in this field, especially when you consider the diverse and innovative nature of the firms we were up against.

“Our Auto-DollyTug, Auto-Cargo and Auto-Shuttle vehicles, not to mention our Auto-Sim software platform, are promising to improve the passenger experience and increase efficiencies at airports across the globe, all while reducing their carbon footprint by 60% when compared to using diesel tugs. That is proving a very attractive proposition.”

Aurrigo was presented with the Highly Acclaimed Innovation Logistics Solution in Air Cargo by the STAT Times during the World Cargo Symposium in Lima earlier this month. This industry award recognised the hard work of its UK and international teams in bringing autonomous solutions to the aviation industry.

Professor Keene concluded: “It is always fantastic to be recognised by your industry peers and that is exactly what the STAT Times award was all about. We will use this hat-trick of awards to open new doors for us as a business and to reinforce to our fast-growing workforce that we are creating solutions that are changing the way airports work now and in the future.”
