Stand sales and brand relaunch success for NCMT at MACH

Posted on 29 Apr 2026. Edited by: Ed Hill.
Stand sales and brand relaunch success for NCMT at MACHNCMT has reported an exceptional MACH 2026, selling a total of seven machines during the week, including the two machines directly from its stand. The machine tool specialist also saw record levels of engagement and a highly successful brand relaunch reinforcing its position at the forefront of UK manufacturing technology.

Exhibiting at the NEC, Birmingham, the Coventry-based engineering company had a standout week at MACH, selling both machines displayed on its stand including a Makino a800Z, the largest single-piece machine at the exhibition by tonnage, making its UK debut.

The Makino a800Z attracted significant attention throughout the week, showcasing high-capacity, high-precision 5-axis machining capability for large and complex components across aerospace, energy and automotive sectors.

Alongside this, the Okuma MULTUS U3000 2SW 1500 proved a major draw, not only for its multi-tasking capabilities but also for its live machining demonstration of a traditional Japanese Daruma doll. The intricate, multi-process demonstration combining turning, five-axis milling and friction stir welding in a single set-up sparked strong visitor interest and drove high-quality technical conversations throughout the exhibition.

With MACH renowned for attracting serious buyers and decision-makers, NCMT’s experience at the 2026 event exceeded expectations, delivering not only immediate sales but also a substantial increase in qualified leads and future pipeline opportunities.

Jonathan Smart, managing director of NCMT, said: “This year’s MACH has been a success. The phone call every exhibitor wants to make during the week is to their logistics partners to reroute where the machines on their stand will be delivered and we were delighted to make that call.

“We are incredibly pleased that both the Okuma and Makino models were sold directly from our stand and are already on their way to their new homes, where our service engineers will be installing and training customers to maximise their investment.”

Ian Horton, sales director, added: “MACH 2026 has been exceptional we sold a total of seven machines during the exhibition. We’ve seen strong footfall, had a great number of encouraging conversations and generated a significant volume of high-quality leads.”

“There is a real sense of positivity about the year ahead in manufacturing. Our newly relaunched NCMT brand made a strong impact at the show, creating genuine interest that we will continue to build on in the months ahead. MACH once again proved why it is the home of UK manufacturing technologies.”
