Power Jacks, an Aberdeenshire-based engineering specialist, is reporting improved design efficiency and faster project progression following its collaboration with
Mayr Transmissions and the adoption of the company’s online product configurator.
Known for its high-performance linear actuation systems, Power Jacks serves a range of demanding sectors including aerospace, renewable energy, civil engineering and industrial automation. Its products are typically deployed in safety-critical and heavy-duty applications where precision and reliability are paramount. As its project portfolio has evolved, the company has seen a growing requirement for accurately specified braking solutions across multiple applications.
To support this need, Power Jacks has been working with Mayr Transmissions, a global manufacturer of safety brakes, torque limiters and power transmission systems. Central to the partnership is Mayr’s digital configurator tool, which enables engineers to quickly select and customise braking solutions to meet exact performance criteria, while also providing immediate access to detailed 3D CAD models for integration into system designs.
The adoption of this tool has streamlined early-stage development work within Power Jacks’ engineering teams. By enabling rapid configuration and eliminating uncertainty during specification, the company has reduced design times and improved accuracy when developing complex assemblies. The ability to download ready-to-use models has also supported a smoother transition from concept design through to prototype development.
