AMB 2026, under the motto “Never Stop Manufacturing the Future,”
DMG MORI will demonstrate how the company supports its customers with productive manufacturing solutions and long-term collaboration. On its 2,100 square metre stand in Hall 10, visitors will experience 20 largely automated machines in action.
With products for 5-axis simultaneous machining, 6-sided turn-milling and additive manufacturing, the global machine tool manufacturer is shaping technological development in the sector, consistently aligned with its pillars of Machining Transformation (MX), process integration, automation, digital transformation (DX) and green transformation (GX).
For DMG MORI, the commissioning of manufacturing solutions marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration with the customers. The focus is on reliable partnerships throughout the entire lifecycle of the production system. This enables the development of competitive manufacturing solutions that meet rising quality and productivity requirements.
Digital tools and products from the DMQP (DMG MORI Qualified Products) portfolio are part of the offering. Service and spare parts ensure high machine availability. Modernisation including retrofits and lifecycle services extend the useful life of an investment and adapt it to new requirements. Financing solutions from DMG MORI Finance and customised training programs are also integral parts of the collaboration.
DMG MORI will introduce the DMV 160, a new model in its vertical machining centre lineup. Equipped as standard with the CELOS app-based operating environment together with an automation interface, it offers cost-effective, scalable entry into higher level manufacturing solutions capable of tackling the most demanding applications.
It is one of DMG MORI’s new Best-Fit Machines (BX) solutions, introduced to complement the manufacturer’s MX portfolio by offering less complex, attractively priced, yet still highly capable machines. They provide an accessible entry point into high-efficiency, multi-axis and multi-process machining. Other examples of BX machines at AMB include the CLX 450 for turn-mill operations and the DMX 80 U for 5-axis milling. Machines like these enable future-proof production, even in markets with lower willingness to invest, increasing production capacity for simpler workpieces.
BX Solutions with CELOS X allow the use of DMG MORI technology cycles to accelerate shop-floor programming. For example, with the complete Gear Package ALL IN 2.0 featuring eight technology cycles, users can carry out gear machining on existing turn-mill centres, without having to use a separate gear-cutting machine.
Long-term competitiveness stems from manufacturing platforms that can be adapted to changing requirements. That is why DMG MORI supports its customers with technologies that make processes safer and more productive. These include, in particular, 5-axis simultaneous machining centres and turn-mill centres for 6-sided complete machining.
Grinding and measuring can also be integrated, as DMG MORI demonstrates on the DMC 80 FDS duoBLOCK and the 3. Generation NTX 2500. An automatic measuring device, along with automated pallet and workpiece changeover, increases machine uptime and results in consistently precise machining. Integration of processes like these shorten lead times and enable high accuracy to be achieved.
Additive technologies also open up new possibilities in manufacturing. From identifying suitable applications to successfully integrating additive processes into existing production environments, DMG MORI supports its customers with powder-bed systems from the LASERTEC SLM series and LASERTEC DED hybrid models for laser cladding.
Smaller batch sizes and greater component variety mean that automation solutions should no longer be limited to mass production, but must be increasingly versatile. With a 2. Generation DMU 60 eVo, DMG MORI will demonstrate using the compact MATRIS WPH 70 just how flexible automated manufacturing can be. The robotic system is designed to handle workpieces and pallets. In combination with an automatic measuring unit, MATRIS WPH solutions contribute to significantly higher machine uptime by paving the way for cost-effective 24/7 production.
The Robo2Go is now available in combination with the easyFIX automated clamping system. For exchanging workpieces, the robot can precisely reposition the vice for greater autonomy. Manual intervention by an operator is eliminated, while automated clamping ensures consistency. DMG MORI will present such a solution at AMB on a 5-axis DMU 40 machining centre.
With CELOS X, DMG MORI has created a platform that seamlessly connects machines, processes and applications. This results in less complex and significantly more transparent production. When it comes to service, the online platform my DMG MORI accelerates problem solving through equally transparent and direct communication with the relevant specialists. Spare parts are also procured via the digital platform.
The exclusive DMG MORI technology cycles reduce programming times by up to 60 percent and integrate additional manufacturing processes. The machine tool manufacturer can temporarily activate selected technology cycles via the my DMG MORI customer portal, allowing users to test them and utilise them according to their needs, with flexible payment options.
At AMB, the range of these on-demand technology cycles will be expanded for all machines from the Pfronten plant to include Application Turning Cycle (ATC) and Machine Protection Control (MPC 2.0). The former adjusts the feed rate relative to the table load, while the latter minimises the risk of a crash by monitoring vibration and quickly shutting down the machine if necessary.
