Managing Composites joins forces with Gordon Murray Special Vehicles Managing Composites has announced an official partnership with Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV), bringing together two companies focused on advanced engineering, lightweight structures and high-performance vehicle development.

The collaboration will span three flagship GMSV programmes: the S1, S1 LM and Le Mans GTR, all of which place a strong emphasis on lightweight construction, bespoke engineering and driver-focused performance.

Although the companies have been working together for some time, the partnership has only now been formally announced following several significant milestones. These include the dynamic debut of the Le Mans GTR at Le Mans Classic, ongoing development work on the S1 LM and the recent global unveiling of the S1 during Monterey Car Week.

According to the companies, the agreement represents far more than a conventional supplier relationship, describing it as a technical alignment based on a shared commitment to engineering excellence and uncompromising performance.

A joint statement said the partnership is founded on “shared principles, where intent, structure, and execution are held to the same uncompromising level”. It added that, from initial vehicle architecture through to final design, “every decision is driven by performance. Every interface is deliberate. Every millimetre serves a purpose.”

GMSV, the UK-based division of Gordon Murray, specialises in the creation of unique and ultra-low-volume vehicles, drawing on the wider group's design, engineering and manufacturing expertise. The business operates across three areas: SV Design, which develops highly exclusive derivatives of Gordon Murray production cars; Heritage projects inspired by Murray's design legacy; and Bespoke commissions tailored to individual customer requirements.

All GMSV programmes are guided by Gordon Murray's philosophy of lightweight design, engineering innovation and driver engagement, with the company's seven core principles encompassing Driving Perfection, Lightweight, Engineering Art, Premium Brand, A Return to Beauty, Exclusivity and The Customer Journey.

Spain-based Managing Composites brings specialist expertise in composites engineering, simulation and advanced manufacturing. Founded by engineers involved in composites programmes for several of the world's most prestigious hypercar brands, the company supports projects ranging from crash simulation and lay-up optimisation to materials development and manufacturing process improvement.

The business has also developed complementary ventures including The Native Lab, a training division focused on composites skills development, and ESEN·EYE, a computer vision technology designed to automate inspection and improve composite manufacturing quality.

Commenting on the programme, Lluc Martí, CEO of Managing Composites, said: “Our team has helped develop some of the world's most exclusive hypercars, but this project is taking craftsmanship and personalisation to a completely new level. Every detail is being challenged, refined and tailored to create something truly unique.

“We're helping define the identity of each car by pushing materials, finishes and manufacturing techniques beyond what has ever been done before. This is the kind of program where even the smallest details deserve to be extraordinary."

The vehicles at the centre of the partnership underline the focus on lightweight performance. The S1 is powered by a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 delivering up to 690PS, with a kerb weight of less than 997kg and production limited to 64 examples. The more extreme S1 LM features a 4.3-litre naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 producing more than 730hp, weighs 957kg and will be restricted to just five units.

Completing the line-up is the Le Mans GTR, powered by a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 generating 664PS. With a weight of 986kg and production capped at 24 vehicles, it reflects the programme's focus on combining exclusivity with advanced engineering.

The two companies said further details of the collaboration will be revealed as development progresses, with both aiming to push the boundaries of materials technology, vehicle performance and craftsmanship in the ultra-exclusive supercar sector.
