#engineering #ukmfg #jobs RSM Industries, a car-parts manufacturer based in Exhall near Coventry, is to make 150 people redundant after losing nine major contracts to supply seat components to Johnson Controls. The work — making metal brackets for car seats in Jaguars, Nissan and Ford models — accounted for almost all of the firm’s business; the cuts mean it will be left with a staff of 15.
RSM managing director Greg Williams said the news had “come as a shock, especially as we’ve been working with Johnson Controls for 20 years. These components are difficult and complex to make. My workforce has worked hard to make sure that quality control is maintained, and deadlines have been met.”
