GF Machining Solutions (formerly GF Agie Charmilles) — the EDM, milling and laser ablation machine tool specialist, as well as automation systems solutions provider — is holding an Open House at its Coventry facility 11-13 March, at which it will launch a number of new machines into the UK. Branded as ‘Know-how Show-how’, the Open House will be the first the company has held since it changed its name in January.
Managing director Martin Spencer said: “The emphasis and focus of the Open House is on best-practice machining solutions, and the many different ways our technologies can help make manufacturers become more productive and more profitable.
“The Know-how element of the event is provided by our experienced team of engineers, who will be available throughout the three days to talk directly to visitors about the new technologies on view, and to discuss any specific manufacturing challenges they may be confronting. The Show-how aspect is provided by the new Agie Charmilles EDM, Mikron milling machines and system 3R automation and work-holding systems on view and being put through their paces.”
Machines on show will include: an Agie Charmilles FORM 20 die-sinker with integrated electrode changer; an Agie Charmilles CUT 300mS wire EDM machine with a thermo-stabilisation system; and an Agie Charmilles CUT 2000S twin-wire EDM machine. The new milling machines comprise a Mikron HEM 500U five-axis machine and a Mikron HSM 500C — a high-speed three-axis machine with an integrated dust/mist extraction system for machining hard materials and graphite.
