Matchmaker goes back-to-back at MACH Matchmaker CNC, the Leatherhead-based supplier of CNC machine tools and flexible manufacturing systems (www.matchmakercnc.co.uk), will use back-to-back stands at MACH to highlight its extensive range of machine tools.

These include the Matchmaker vertical machining centres and five-axis machining centres, plus products from its key partners — TongTai, Honor Seiki, Yasda and Unisign. The second half of Stand 5376 in Hall 5 will be promoting spares and service support, particularly for Fadal machines.

Central to the new machine offerings from Matchmaker CNC is the range of high-speed vertical machining centres equipped as standard with a 10,000rev/min spindle, although many customers are choosing the 20,000rev/min option. To match the performance of the high-speed spindle, these machines are equipped with roller guideways; control is via the popular Fanuc 0iMD CNC.

The four machines in the Matchmaker high-speed VMC range are designated 610, 860, 1020, and 1100, which relates to the X-axis travel. The VMC-860 HS and VMC-1020 are seen as the mainstays of the range, with these two machines sharing 560 and 600mm travels in the Y and Z axes; the rapid-traverse rates are 36m/min (X and Y) and 24m/min (Z).

Managing director Colin Donhue says: “These high-speed machines are a value-for-money machining solution for UK-based sub-contractors and OEMs alike.” With a spare-parts stock valued at over £500,000, the company prides itself on providing a rapid response to breakdowns for machines that have been in the field for many years.

"In particular, Matchmaker CNC has an extensive range of spares for the Fadal range of machines, and it can provide these at prices that are often less than the cost of refurbishing existing worn parts.

“As the age of the UK population of Fadal machines increases — and with many of them still in daily use — we are seeing an increasing demand for spare parts. Key elements such as ballscrews and spindles are available from stock and are priced very competitively.”
