2014 With the biggest presence at MACH and 23 machines on its stand (of which eight were new to the market), Mills CNC Ltd, Leamington Spa (
www.millscnc.co.uk) — the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland — expected to pull in the crowds. The company’s expectations were certainly realised, with 17 new Doosan machines sold directly from its stand, making this year’s MACH the most successful in Mills CNC’s history — and this followed the company’s best-ever first-quarter sales, having sold 154 Doosan machines in the January to March period.
Nick Frampton, Mills CNC’s managing director, said: “MACH was brilliant for us. We were rushed off our feet and welcomed thousands of visitors onto our stand over the five days. The fact that we sold 17 machines was the icing on the cake.”
The machines sold during MACH included a number of Puma 2600 and Puma 3100 lathes, the recently launched DNM Mark II range of vertical machining centres, and Doosan’s high-performance five-axis machines. Mills CNC’s decision to exhibit a range of large-capacity Doosan machines paid dividends, as Mr
Frampton explains: “Interest in our big Doosan machines was particularly noticeable and encouraging, and it resulted in us taking orders for a number of large-capacity Puma lathes, vertical turning lathes and horizontal machining centres. The new machines we launched at MACH included the ST 20G and ST 32G sliding-head machines and a Lynx Y-axis lathe.”
