As MACH 2014 closed after a highly successful five days of trading, demonstrating and communicating, the Southam-based Engineering Technology Group (
www.engtechgroup.com) reported record levels of sales and customer interest.
Group sales director Martin Doyle said: “It has been a memorable 12 months for ETG, and we wanted to make our mark at the event. Analysis of the calibre of visitors to ETG’s stand, orders placed and levels of solid customer enquiries indicates that we have achieved our objectives.” With over a dozen machine sales booked by Thursday evening, the traditionally quieter Friday saw the ETG sales team sign off with a flourish, recording a number of significant orders on the last afternoon. The highlight was a customer purchasing a Feeler VMC just minutes before the show closed, and in doing so taking ETG’s MACH order book past the £1 million mark.
Live demonstrations created high levels of interest in all ETG brands — Hardinge/Bridgeport, Feeler, Quaser, Handtmann, Chiron and Nakamura. Indeed, it was a Nakamura NTJ100 twin-turret twin-spindle turning centre that won the MWP award for ‘Best Turning Centre’. This machine, which combines two high-performance spindles and many innovative features, is aimed at manufacturers of multi-feature small components.
