Following the success of its Tubes Division in Scotland since its launch 18 months ago, Barrett Steel Ltd (
www.barrettsteel.com) has launched Barrett Steel Scotland.
Based in Bathgate, West Lothian, this new business will provide general steels to a wide range of industries.
The company has ambitious growth plans and intends to become Scotland’s largest independent steel stockholder within five years. It will work in conjunction with the Tubes Division — also based in Bathgate — and the Montrose-based Energy business. Two new staff have been appointed as part of the initial recruitment drive.
Commercial manager Ross Kidd says: “This is an exciting time at Barrett Steel Scotland. We have the backing of the Barrett Group — the UK and Ireland’s largest independent steel stockholder — and we are looking to capitalise on its success north of the border, building the customer base and developing relationships.
"We will offer customers a wide range of stock and processing options, including drilling, plasma, gas and laser cutting, punching and shearing, tube lasering and painting. "
