The increasing use of five-axis machining and the associated need to access surfaces and blend features in deep cavities has seen Tamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation Ltd (ITC —
www.itc-ltd.co.uk) introduce the new line of HDC straight-shank tool-holders.
Made by BIG Kaiser, these feature an extremely slim and rigid design, along with high levels of balance and concentricity.
ITC says hydraulic tool-holders are particularly suitable for applications that require high accuracy, such as drilling, reaming and finish-milling, as well as grinding tools.
Furthermore, to enhance flexibility, the HDC straight-shank super-slim holders can be clamped into other base holders to extend the overall reach of the tool assembly and avoid the need for special tools.
These tool-holders from ITC are simple to use, as they only require one hexagonal key wrench to clamp or loosen the cutting tool, making tool changes fast and easy.
Moreover, every HDC tool-holder has concentricity guaranteed to 3µm at five x diameter. Optional straight collets can also be used to increase the range and versatility of each size.
