IAC to create 400 jobs in Birmingham expansionInternational Automotive Components (IAC) has signed an 11-year lease at the Prologis Park Birmingham Interchange.

Occupying 28,800m2 in two buildings, the company will manufacture, assemble and sequence components for delivery to Jaguar Land Rover’s nearby Solihull plant, which makes the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar, as well as the Jaguar F-Pace.

IAC already supplies components and interior trim for Land Rover and Range Rover models, and the company anticipates full production at the site in 2021.

Manfred Gingl, CEO of IAC, said: “We are a customer-centric company, so it was an easy decision for us to expand our operations near our customers’ production sites.

“IAC views the UK as a strategic market, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with JLR long into the future.”

The functions that IAC will centralise at this new site include engineering, programme management, commercial, finance and IT.

Ashleigh Hayes at Prologis UK said: “IAC’s decision to locate its facility at Prologis Park Birmingham Interchange further endorses the West Midlands as a premier location for the automotive sector and is a huge vote of confidence in the region.

“We are delighted to be able to support IAC Group’s continued expansion in the UK.”
