Swiss engineering firm R-Reforged, which specialises in creating bespoke and limited-edition vehicles, has established ‘the optimum working environment’ at its UK facility, where it will produce a limited-edition run of Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage Twins.

Available exclusively as a pair — a Coupé and a ‘fresh off the drawing board’ Speedster — just 19 customer sets will be available, all of which will be built at its recently opened facility in Warwick, which has been fitted out by the Birmingham-based storage specialist Lean Storage Solutions.

The connection between Lean Storage Solutions and R-Reforged goes back to the end of 2019, when plans were being formulated to update R-Reforged’s existing workshop space — then along came Covid-19 and things were put on hold.

In the meantime, the Aston Martin Vantage V12 Zagato Heritage Twins project came to the fore, and with it a more pressing requirement for a completely new workshop.

Paul Kelly, R-Reforged’s head of operations, said: “There are a few specialist companies supplying workshop storage systems, but the work we had already done with Lean Storage Solutions gave us the confidence that the team could deliver on price, design and quality.

“We needed a supplier that could work with us to tailor the workshop to our particular needs, specifically drawer depths to suit tools, and cupboards with enough space to keep everything neat and tidy.

“Colour of the equipment was also important to fit our corporate scheme. Dean O’Neill from Lean Storage Solutions listened to our needs and configured the workshop perfectly for us.”

With the order for the workshop placed, a tight turnround was required for delivery and installation due to Covid disruptions and to complete it ahead of project assembly beginning. To furnish the workshop, Lean Storage Solutions worked with Italy-based storage system manufacturer MG Magrini, for which it is the UK agent.

“Making full use of the modularity of the MG Magrini units we included roll-out tool storage for each car bay, sliding door cabinets, workbenches, lockers and flooring, to truly tailor a solution.”
