Cutting tool manufacturer takes on two new apprenticesITC’s new apprentices, Danny Cockbill and Blaine Hughes

As a UK manufacturer that is committed to playing its role in building the skill base of British manufacturing, Tamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has taken on two new apprentices. The cutting tool manufacturer has a long tradition of employing engineering apprentices and it has now welcomed the arrival of Danny Cockbill and Blaine Hughes to its ranks.

The apprentices have already undergone academic engineering studies at a local college and their arrival at ITC will set the two teenagers on the path to successful careers in engineering. During their four-year apprenticeships, they will take part in a comprehensive practical and academic programme that will see them learn their craft on ‘state of the art’ technology.

ITC constantly invests in new CNC grinding machines and peripheral equipment to retain its position as a leading UK manufacturer of high-quality innovative cutting tool solutions. It is within this high-tech environment that Danny and Blaine will both gain valuable experience and academic skill sets that will set them on a path to successful careers in manufacturing.

ITC director Georgia Graves said: “Over the last nine years we have recruited over 10 apprentices that have become valued members of our continually growing team. Developing the engineers of tomorrow is the lifeblood of any manufacturing business and we are delighted to welcome our latest apprentices.

“Like our continued investment in technology and advancing our product offering, investing in the engineers of the future is a commitment that we take very seriously at ITC.”
