The new ByTube Star 130 from Coventry-based
Bystronic UK Ltd is a high-end tube fibre laser offering up to 4kW of power (2 and 3kW versions available), along with high levels of accuracy and ease of use — plus a fully automatic set up that allows companies to ‘easily and quickly enter the tube-processing business and access new customers’.
Since 85% of the tube-processing market potential lies in the small-tube segment, the ByTube Star 130 is for processing tubes with diameters from 10 to 130mm and has a load capacity of up to 17kg/m. Moreover, LVD says the 2-D cutting head can meet 90% of customer requirements, as vertical cuts account for the largest market share.
Additional options can be configured individually to provide further operating convenience as well as increased production quality. For example: ‘Laserscan’ offers real-time compensation of pipe bending to improve cutting precision, meaning high accuracy is guaranteed in all cutting conditions, even with low-quality material; while the additional linear axis provided by ‘Quick Cut’ provides greater speed for better cutting performance. Furthermore, automatic weld-seam detection enables the weld seam to be automatically oriented to the optimum position.
With its proven ByVision Tube user interface, Bystronic has placed control of all functions related to the laser cutting of tubes on a touchscreen that is intuitive and easy to understand, thereby minimising the amount of experience an operator needs to start production on the ByTube Star 130.
ByVision Tube builds on the proven ByVision software, which Bystronic uses for all other cutting and bending systems. The software supports users in importing and creating cutting plans, which makes the operation of cutting sequences on the ByTube Star 130 particularly straightforward.
