The 29th edition of Metaltech & Automex 2025, Malaysia’s premier manufacturing and automation technology exhibition, is set to take place from 14 to 17 May at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. Organised by Informa Markets Malaysia, the region’s leading organiser of trade exhibitions and conferences, the show ‘serves as the ultimate gateway to the future of industrial innovation’.

Spanning six halls totalling 25,000m2, the show is expected to highlight over 3,000 innovations from 1,500 local and international exhibitors and attract more than 20,000 visitors from around the world, underscoring its global appeal.

Building on an impressive legacy, the 2024 edition was a record-breaking success, achieving a 28% increase in participation compared to 2023, and featured an outstanding line-up of 1,030 participating companies from 24 countries and attracted 23,000 industry professionals from 47 countries. National pavilions from China, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan further solidified Metaltech & Automex’s reputation as a premier global platform for manufacturing and automation technology.

For nearly three decades, Metaltech & Automex has been a cornerstone of Malaysia’s manufacturing success, fostering a dynamic ecosystem of collaboration and innovation. It covers everything from machine tools and laser cutting machine to moulding, material handling and storage, warehouse management, industrial automation, and smart warehouse solutions. This iconic exhibition has consistently driven industry advancements, connecting global players with cutting-edge technologies that shape the future.

Key pillar of economic growth

Geonice Chong, Informa Markets Malaysia’s deputy event director for Metaltech & Automex, said: “Malaysia’s manufacturing sector remains a key pillar of economic growth, contributing nearly 23% to the country’s GDP. With the industry evolving at an unprecedented pace, businesses are actively adopting AI-driven automation, precision engineering, and sustainable manufacturing practices to stay competitive in the global market.

Metaltech & Automex 2025“At Metaltech & Automex 2025, our goal is to provide a dynamic platform where industry leaders, innovators, and professionals can come together to explore the latest trends, forge valuable partnerships, and uncover new opportunities. This trade show will focus on how businesses can leverage on AI, robotics and technology to enhance productivity, efficiency and global competitiveness.”

Malaysia’s robust domestic resilience continues to drive economic growth despite external factors such as geopolitical tensions and fluctuating commodity prices. Key policies such as the National Energy Transition Roadmap, National Semiconductor Strategy and the 13th Malaysia Plan are set to further enhance the manufacturing ecosystem. With the rapid rise of AI and increasing demand of semiconductors, these key catalysts are projected to fuel 4.7% growth in the manufacturing sector in 2025.

Metaltech & Automex 2025 aims to accelerate this growth by providing a strategic platform for industry leaders and innovators to explore advancements in machine tools, industrial automation, and smart factory solutions. This edition introduces new sectors, including semiconductor and metrology solutions, to stay in line with evolving industry trends. As the country strengthens its position as a regional manufacturing hub, the trade show offers unmatched opportunities for connection, innovation, and industry transformation.
