Highly-Functional Material Week Tokyo 2025, one of the world’s largest exhibitions dedicated to advanced material technologies, is set to take place at Makuhari Messe from 12-14 November. The event will bring together over 1,000 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in functional materials, ranging from carbon fibre composites and cellulose to next-generation ceramics. These materials are driving progress across a wide range of industries, including electronics, mobility, aerospace, clean energy, medical devices, and sustainability.
The Tokyo show will feature eight specialised shows under one roof:
Filmtech Japan,
Plastic Japan,
Metal Japan,
Ceramic Japan,
Adhesion and Bonding Expo,
Paint & Coating Japan,
Sustainable Material Expo, and
Green Process Japan. These shows will provide a comprehensive view of the materials landscape, from foundational substances to applied technologies.
Katsutoshi Tsuchiya, show director of
Highly-Functional Material Week at
RX Japan Ltd, said: “
Highly-Functional Material Week has always been about connecting people with ideas and technologies that push industries forward. This year’s Tokyo edition will be a true meeting ground for professionals who want to see not only what is possible for the materials sector today, but also what is shaping its future. We are excited to welcome participants from around the world to experience it first-hand.”
Several major exhibitionsRunning concurrently with the main event are several major exhibitions that broaden the scope of the show. Photonix, one of Japan’s most comprehensive exhibitions for optical and laser-related technologies, will highlight developments in laser processing, optical components, and precision measurement.
Finetech Japan, held exclusively in Tokyo, will focus on the latest in display technologies, including liquid crystal, organic EL, quantum dots, and micro LEDs, as well as smart surface applications and manufacturing equipment. These technologies are central to the evolution of wearables, immersive displays, and interactive devices.
Also debuting this year is Recycle Tech Japan, a new exhibition dedicated to recycling innovation and ecosystem development. As industries intensify their efforts toward carbon neutrality, this platform will present practical solutions and foster collaboration among material suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, retailers, waste management firms, and municipalities.
With its expansive coverage and emphasis on cross-industry collaboration,
Highly-Functional Material Week Tokyo 2025 is expected to attract significant international attention. The event promises ample opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and discovering new solutions that could reshape the future of materials and manufacturing.
Visitor registration is now open, and further details are available on the official
website. For those interested in exhibiting, upcoming editions are scheduled for Nagoya in February 2026 and Osaka in May 2026.
