Bowers Group introduces new XT thread gauging sets

Camberley-based Bowers Group has launched two new XT thread gauging sets, strengthening its portfolio of high-precision measurement solutions for manufacturers requiring accurate and repeatable internal thread inspection. Developed to meet the evolving demands of modern production environments, the new range combines Bowers Group’s established three-point bore-gauging technology with dedicated thread measurement capability.

The system is designed to measure the effective/functional pitch diameter of internal threads, ensuring reliable assessment of fit and performance. The result is faster setup, consistent readings, and dependable performance across a wide range of thread forms and sizes.

Sets include either the XT3 digital micrometer controller or the XT Holematic featuring the ergonomic pistol grip controller for improved handling. Each set is supplied as a comprehensive kit, complete with interchangeable thread heads, setting rings, and accessories.

Faster changeovers
Unlike traditional hard screw gauges, the XT interchangeable thread heads provide a versatile and cost-effective alternative. By eliminating the need for multiple fixed gauges, manufacturers benefit from reduced tooling inventory, faster changeovers, and the ability to obtain actual measurement values rather than simple go/no-go results. The resulting data can then be collected via the built-in Bluetooth function to measure process capability

Designed for use across sectors such as aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and precision engineering, the XT systems support stringent quality requirements while improving shopfloor efficiency. Interchangeable heads allow users to measure multiple thread standards using a single gauge platform, reducing tooling costs and downtime.
