IntelliAM AI has unveiled its new agentic AI platform, Enigma, completing what the company describes as an end-to-end Industrial Intelligence Platform designed to help manufacturers improve productivity, reliability and operational decision-making.
Launched at the London Stock Exchange, the platform is aimed at addressing one of industry’s biggest challenges: improving performance from existing assets without the need for major capital investment. IntelliAM says the technology goes beyond traditional industrial AI systems, which are typically focused on monitoring equipment or predicting failures, by enabling intelligent action based on operational context.
Enigma forms the third layer of IntelliAM’s Industrial Intelligence Platform and uses agentic artificial intelligence to analyse production-line performance and recommend, or in some cases trigger, direct operational interventions. The result is a shift from passive monitoring and reporting towards active decision-making on the factory floor.
Tom Clayton, CEO of IntelliAM AI, believes the technology arrives at a critical moment for British manufacturing.
“Britain's future productivity gains will come less from building new factories and more from improving the performance of the assets we already have,” he said.
“Manufacturers do not have a data problem; they have a decision problem. The opportunity now is to use agentic AI to turn trusted industrial data into better operational performance.”
The company argues that even relatively small productivity improvements could have a significant economic impact. Within the UK food and drink manufacturing sector, which contributes £37.3 billion in Gross Value Added, IntelliAM estimates that a 2% productivity increase would generate an additional £746 million annually, while a 5% improvement could add £1.865 billion to the economy.
Alongside productivity gains, the platform is intended to help manufacturers address ongoing skills and labour shortages. Rather than replacing workers, IntelliAM says its technology is designed to amplify existing expertise by capturing operational knowledge and making it available to frontline teams in real time.
By interpreting complex manufacturing data and providing actionable recommendations, Enigma enables engineers and operators to make faster and more consistent decisions. According to the company, this allows scarce technical expertise to be deployed more effectively across operations.
The launch builds on IntelliAM’s established presence within the food and drink sector. The company says it already works with half of the world’s 12 largest food and beverage manufacturers, and that Enigma has been developed using more than a decade of industry-specific expertise combined with live deployment trials.
These trials have included projects with manufacturers and industrial businesses such as Müller, Hovis and SKF. At the London Stock Exchange launch event, executives from Müller were due to discuss operational improvements achieved through the technology.
According to IntelliAM, customer deployments have already produced substantial reliability benefits. The company cites a 215% improvement in mean time between failures at a Müller site over a 12-month period.
The newly completed Industrial Intelligence Platform processes more than 16 billion industrial data points each year and is built on factory-floor operational data rather than generic AI models. The platform combines three integrated elements: IntelliAM 53, which generates and structures industrial data; Decipher, which provides operational analysis and understanding; and Enigma, which uses agentic AI to initiate intelligent operational actions.
“Agentic AI represents the next stage in industrial transformation,” added Clayton. “With the Industrial Intelligence Platform, we have cracked the code of industrial performance. This is how people and machines will be managed. This technology is about helping scarce expertise goes further.”
