Fanuc expands range of industrial robotsFanuc UK (www.fanuc.eu) has expanded its range of industrial robots with the M-20iD/25 handling robot, plus the ARC Mate 120iD welding version.

Controlled by the R-30iB Plus controller, both robots are characterised by higher axis speeds and a larger working area than previous models.

The M-20iD/25 is ideally suited to handling tasks that include loading/unloading machines and parts manipulation. Its slim lightweight design, combined with a compact arm and wrist, provides maximum reach — even in crowded production environments.

It can lift payloads up to 25kg at a range of 1,831mm. Meanwhile, the ARC Mate 120iD has a slim articulated design, allowing it to weld in confined spaces.

Andy Armstrong, Fanuc’s UK sales and marketing manager, said: “With its superior dynamics and seamlessly integrated welding equipment, the ARC Mate 120iD will ensure that customer productivity increases.

“Customers can also benefit from lower operating costs, thanks to smooth surfaces and recessed bolts, which help to prevent dirt build-up.”

Both new robots feature an IP67 protection rating and come with the R-30iB Plus controller as standard, which helps to simplify the programming process through an easy-to-use interface.

Mr Armstrong said: “The introduction of the M-20iD/25, alongside the ARC Mate 120iD, represents our determination to provide customers with a comprehensive range of robot solutions.

“Both robots are uniquely suited to operating in tight spaces and can reach closer to their own base than previous models, with an active stroke range of 1,585mm.”

Possessing improved repeatability (up to ± 0.02mm) and significantly higher axis speeds as a result of new drive trains, the M-20iD/25 and ARC Mate 120iD further improve the options available to Fanuc UK customers.
