‘Cutting edge’ products from Penta Laser UKRugby-based Penta Laser UK Ltd is introducing a host of new products to the UK and European metal-processing markets. Chris Smith, Penta Laser UK’s head of sales, said: “These new products prove this brand has real technical strength and depth and can compete shoulder-to-shoulder with dominant European laser brands. The Penta range offers laser powers from 3 to 85kW and flatbed cutting bed sizes from 3 x 1.5m to 13 x 3m. Furthermore, Penta Laser UK offers full sales and after-sales support, and stocks a huge range of Penta spare parts.

“Among the new introductions are the SwingPro flatbed lasers, which are available with laser powers of 3-12kW and cutting bed sizes of 1.5 x 3m and 2 x 3m. These are a development of the popular Swing VII models but include new features such as integrated electrical control cabinet, additional side access door, and improved protective guarding.

“Penta Laser now offers a broad range of laser automation products, from semi-automated load/unload systems to fully automated storage and retrieval systems for lights-out operation. There is a brand-new multi-million-euro installation in the Netherlands that highlights these capabilities.”

High precision, efficiency and adaptability

“Furthermore, the well-proven Bolt Cube five-axis laser is now available in the UK and Europe; and there are many systems installed in the automative market in China — for example, over 60 Bolt Cubes have been delivered to BYD, China’s leading manufacturer of ‘new energy vehicles’. These laser cells have many features of interest for UK laser users — they can process a wide range of metal materials, including steel, aluminium, and copper and are characterised by high precision, efficiency, and adaptability, making them well suited to meeting the demanding cutting requirements of complex workpieces.

“A high-strength crossbeam and precision manufacturing processes ensure optimal dynamic performance, accuracy and stability during machine operation, and the linear axes can achieve a maximum speed of 100m/min and an acceleration of up to 1g. In addition, the five-axis simultaneous motion cutting head can achieve 360deg of rotation and ±135deg of tilt, facilitating seamless transitions between planes.

“The machines’ ‘Smart Editor’ is a specialised tool designed for the rapid modification and editing of laser cutting programs installed on the host computer, while Smart 3D Pro software is a three-dimensional programming system developed by Penta Laser for the 3-D cutting domain. This software supports a wide range of functions, including laser cutting data processing, support frame design, five-axis simultaneous motion cutting programming, simulation, interference checking, post-processing, and program modification.”
