CNC software specialists WorkNC and Surfcam will be joining Edgecam at EMO to exhibit under the Vero banner (Hall 25 Stand K12, Hall 24 Stand H42 –
www.verosoftware.com).
Edgecam and its reseller Camtech, will demonstrate the new Workflow application (pictured), which allows CAD/CAM engineers to apply tool-paths within seconds, by helping with the loading and positioning of the component, choosing the manufacturing method and suitable machine tools, adding user-defined stock or stock from a database, importing fixtures, selecting a machine and tool-kit, and managing strategies to automate manufacture.
Other features of the latest release of Edgecam include a re-design of ‘dialogues’, four-turret support, free loading of CAD files into Part Modeler, quicker simulation, and improvements to the Wire EDM Feature Finder.
Following its acquisition of Sescoi earlier this year, Vero is continuing to invest in the WorkNC product suite. The latest release, WorkNC V22, features new finishing tool-paths, as well as a host of improvements to existing tool-paths.
Morphing and spiral transition options, along with improved tool-path point distribution management, help to ensure optimal surface quality and shorter cycle times. There are also four new tool-paths for machining walls and planar surfaces on die-stamping tools.
Meanwhile, WorkXPlore 3D contains many features usually found only in CAD systems, enabling the user to perform diagnostics, create assembly instructions and prepare the production of 3-D models. The inside of a component or assembly can be examined easily and accurately, and a section plane can be rotated, translated or moved along a guide curve using the mouse. The section curve can be displayed in the 3-D model or as an individual entity, and exported using DXF, DWG and other interfaces.
Surfcam will be demonstrating its first major release as part of Vero. The 2014 R1 version includes adaptive roughing technology, as well as enhancements designed to deliver additional ease of use. Updated and additional CAD translators, post-processors and editNC are also included in the release at no additional cost.
Surfcam will also be introducing its 3-D modelling solution, Part Modeler, which has been designed for the quick and simple construction and modification of solid models with fully associative drafting capabilities.
