A new range of CNC bed mills equipped with the DynaPath control system has been introduced by Bristol-based MACH Machine Tools Ltd (
www.machmt.co.uk).
There are three machines in the range: the MDM 700 (710 x 400 x 500mm work envelope); the MDM 850 (830 x 500 x 610mm); and the MDM 1000 (1,000 x 500 x 610mm).
Also featured are ISO 40 spindles (up to 5,000rev/min), work tables up to 1,524 x 330mm with a maximum load of 500kg,
a 12.1in touch screen, MPG hand-wheel, air draw bar, interlocked table guard and coolant equipment. The machines are
also Wi-Fi enabled to facilitate ‘remote’ diagnostics and online support.
The DynaPath control system features conversational and ISO G-code programming capability, making it easy to program on the shopfloor.
Meanwhile, an 8GB on-board (program) storage facility, combined with 1,000-line look-ahead, ensures fast processing speeds and responsiveness, which in turn help to deliver high levels of accuracy and surface finish.
The control uses simple-to-understand menus, and the integration of on-screen graphics helps to eliminate programming omissions and errors.
An ‘advanced’ DXF reader is supplied as standard; this features grouped hole and contour selection, adding to the control’s flexibility.
Other features of the DynaPath controlinclude datum setting using alignment, a suggested feeds and speeds database,
sub-program calling, the ability to use macro-programming, being able to facilitate program simulation using tool path or 3-D rendered graphics, and programmable spindle control.
Mike Corbett, MACH Machine Tools’ divisional manager, said: “In the past, component manufacturers looking for a high-performance and flexible CNC bed mill didn’t have that many options regarding the machine’s control system.
"The arrival of the MACH MDM machine range is going to give them a real choice.
"The first MDM machine — an MDM 1000 — arrived in the UK at the end of September and was sold immediately.”
